Meet EvolvED Leadership
EvolvED Leadership is a 12-week, research-informed leadership experience for high school students who want to get more from high school—and prepare for what comes next.
Students do not need to hold a formal leadership position to participate. The program begins with a more fundamental idea: before students can lead a team, organization, or community, they must learn how to lead themselves.
Through interactive Leadership Labs, peer coaching, personal reflection, collaborative challenges, and real-world experiments, students develop the self-awareness, adaptability, relational intelligence, courage, and capacity for purposeful action that excellent leadership requires.
By the end of the program, each student will create a Personal Leadership Vision and a practical three-goal action plan for shaping their high school experience, future, and positive impact on others.
What Students Learn
EvolvED Leadership helps students develop capacities they can use in school, relationships, extracurricular activities, college, future careers, and life.
Lead Yourself
Students clarify their values, strengths, motivations, beliefs, and aspirations. They begin defining who they want to become, what matters to them, and how they want to experience—and shape—their high school years.
Think with Curiosity & Adaptability
Students learn to challenge limiting assumptions, consider different perspectives, experiment with new approaches, and treat setbacks as information. They develop the flexibility, creativity, and resilience needed to move forward when circumstances change.
Turn Vision Into Action
Students learn how to translate ambitious ideas into achievable goals, effective habits, and meaningful next steps. They practice building motivation and accountability without relying on constant pressure, perfectionism, or shame.
Pursue High Performance & Wellbeing
Students explore how stress, emotional awareness, rest, self-compassion, and healthy boundaries affect performance. They learn that sustainable leadership is not about achieving more at any cost—it is about creating the conditions in which people can perform well and thrive.
Build Relational Intelligence
Students practice listening with curiosity, asking thoughtful questions, understanding different perspectives, and communicating with empathy. They learn how to build trust, strengthen belonging, and create environments where people feel safe enough to contribute.
Communicate with Courage
Students practice expressing their ideas, needs, and perspectives clearly and respectfully. They learn how to navigate disagreement, participate in difficult conversations, give and receive feedback, and advocate for themselves and others.
Inspire Others & Move Ideas Forward
Students learn how to communicate a meaningful vision, invite others to contribute, build support, and help a group move from ideas to action. They also practice forming authentic relationships and developing networks built on curiosity, generosity, and shared interests.
Why Now?
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how we learn and work, but leadership remains a uniquely human endeavor. Technology can provide information, analyze patterns, and automate tasks. Human beings must still decide why the work matters, where we are going, how we should respond to change, and how we will move forward together.
The Harvard Business Impact 2026 Global Leadership Study, based on responses from 1,139 senior leaders, highlights the growing importance of adaptability, inquiry, complexity thinking, and the ability to lead at the intersection of technology and culture.
The future will demand more than technical knowledge, strong grades, or an impressive list of activities. It will belong to people who can think clearly, remain curious, make thoughtful decisions, build trusting relationships, adapt to uncertainty, act with purpose, and help others move forward.
These capacities can be developed—and high school is not too early to begin.
How EvolvED Leadership Works
EvolvED Leadership is not a traditional lecture-based course. Students learn leadership by practicing it and applying each concept to their own lives.
The 12-week experience includes:
One live, facilitator-led Leadership Lab each week
Interactive leadership and behavioral-science lessons
Peer coaching and guided partner conversations
Group discussions and collaborative challenges
Values, strengths, purpose, and vision activities
Goal-setting and habit-building practice
Active-listening and courageous-conversation exercises
Brief personal reflections and real-world experiments between sessions
A Personal Leadership Vision and three-goal action plan
Students who complete the program earn the EvolvED Leadership Certificate, recognizing their sustained participation in a research-informed leadership experience. Students may include the certificate on college, scholarship, internship, fellowship, employment, and leadership-program applications.
Students may participate independently in a virtual cohort with teens from different schools or join an EvolvED Leadership cohort offered through their own school or organization.
